New Direction
I want to take a moment to thank George Spafford, one of the Visible Ops authors, for providing some great content to the VisibleOps Blog. George has a new job at Pepperweed Consulting, so is handing over the reins on the blog. His content has been spot on, and always worth a second read. Good luck George!
I’m taking over the posting responsibilities. I’m the Managing Director at the IT Process Institute, and am deeply committed to an ongoing exploration of what is proven to work, in the IT operations, audit, and security functions.
Overall – I subscribe to the philosophy that “together we are smarter than any of us alone”. There are so many IT professionals trying different approaches to similar problems, that we can really make a difference by identifying what has been proven to work. Why try something that has been tried and failed, when you can try something that has been proven to produce results?
My focus for the Visible Ops Blog will be twofold
1 – Leverage any empirical data, from ITPI ongoing research or other industry sources, that supports or enhances Visible Ops concepts.
2 – Use a new quick-poll feature on the ITPI site to foster reader discussion regarding Visible Ops related topics.
Let me know if you have any questions about concepts or content in the Visible Ops Handbook.
