The IT Process Institute initiates IT controls performance research study

Eugene Oregon, December 12, 2006 - The IT Process Institute today announced the start of data collection for a study of IT controls impact on operating performance. This study is a follow-on study of the IT Controls Performance Study that was released in May 2006. The Institute of Internal Auditors Research Foundation funded this 2nd phase study to help identify applied research that improves the internal and IT audit communities.

The objectives of repeating the study are to gather data from more organizations in order to increase the sample size for analysis, and validate the findings of the 1st study, and identify any additional insights that are revealed by statistical analysis approach that is possible with a larger sample.

The data collection phase of this study is planned through January 2007. The study is open to organizations with revenue or overall operating budget greater than $250 Million, and individuals who have understanding of IT controls and operating procedures across multiple functional groups or locations within IT.
