The IT Process Institute launches the IT Controls Benchmarking Survey

Eugene Oregon, September, 2005 - The IT Process Institute launched a comprehensive survey designed to determine the impact of IT control activities on security, operations, and audit performance measures.

The survey is targeted at IT executives and designed to determine which IT controls activities correlate with performance measures.

"IT executives want to see a strong business case for spending on IT audit and IT control activities," says Kurt Milne, Managing Director of the IT Process Institute. "Not just because they have the responsibility to comply with various regulations that impact IT, but also, because they are responsible for showing a compelling return on all IT investments."

Although the ultimate goal of this research effort is to determine the nature of the relationship between controls and operations, and specifically to identify those controls or controls sets that have strong predictive powers for operations and are responsible for the greatest variance in the operational measures, we first must identify those controls and control groups that have a statistically significant correlation with operational metrics.

Those who participate will receive:
  • Strictly confidential benchmark of your company’s performance compared to the population of survey participants.
  • Analysis of what matters most when designing and implementing controls.
  • Practical guidance on how to use controls to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
